Placer Nature Center is celebrating the season by opening its doors for Springfest. The event will include games, food, stories, crafts, community members sharing information, and much more.
We continue the season with our very popular preschool environmental program on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is amazing to see these young scientists exploring the world, laughing, and trying out new scientific terms. The program is full, but if you would like to learn more about it and get on the waitlist, send an email to programs@placernaturecenter.org.
Summer Camps will begin in the middle of June and continue for six weeks with a new focus each week, such as Geology, Howlers, Pollinators, Dirt Made My Lunch, Dino Days, and Water World. We have expanded access because they filled up last year. Partial scholarships are available due to funding from local clubs. Check the website for more information and dates, or subscribe to the email list to be the first to know! Sign up now before the slots are full! Join as a member and get a discount on each week of summer camp. An additional benefit of being a member is that you and your family can get in free at hundreds of science museums across the USA.
Placer Nature Center is committed to providing a space to explore, learn and have fun. We have a new Self-Guided Bird Walk, so you can discover our birdhouses, identify and learn about birds, and check off a list of those birds as you see them.
We are launching a new program called Help Mother Earth PURRR (Pick Up, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to energize environmental stewardship in the hearts and minds of the future through education on waste, recycling, and composting.
PNC is recruiting Docents and Board Members. If you can spare a few hours a month and enjoy being around positive people and introducing new ideas about nature to kids, contact kdavidson@placernaturecenter.org for more information.
Placer Nature Center exists due to the community's support. The Big Day of Giving will occur on May 2nd, and we hope you will continue to donate to us.
